A stylized version of Vytis with the word Lietuva (Lithuania) above the Vytis.

The Vytis, which means "hero", is a knight mounted on a charging horse. Its intent was to not only honor the Lithuanian nobility (who could easily identify itself with a knighted rider), but also the common Lithuanian soldier who did well in battle. Vytis is now Lithuania's national emblem.
